But you can give them tools for what to do when hard things happen.
And neither can they.
Find Your Happy teaches children something much more powerful than simply “thinking positive.”
It helps them begin to understand what they can control... their thoughts, their choices, their responses and the way they speak to themselves.
Because happiness isn't about pretending everything is okay.
It's about learning how to find your way back to yourself when it isn't.
Peek Inside!
Gentle enough for bedtime.
Powerful enough to start conversations that matter.
Comforting rhyme. Beautiful illustrations. Big ideas presented in a way kids can actually understand.

a note from the author
I Wrote This for My Own Child.
I didn't write Find Your Happy because I thought children needed another book telling them to “be positive.”
I wrote it because I wanted my own child to understand something it took me far too long to learn:
We don't get to control everything that happens around us. But we have far more power over what happens within us than we realize.
I wanted to put that lesson into words a child could understand... and create a book parents could reach for when they knew their child was hurting but didn't quite know what to say.
That's how Find Your Happy began.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
What age is Find Your Happy for?
Find Your Happy is designed for ages 5 and up, but the message intentionally grows with the reader. Younger children connect with the rhyme, illustrations, and simple ideas about feelings and happiness, while older kids and teens begin to understand the deeper lessons about thoughts, choices, resilience, self-worth, and personal responsibility.
It's simple enough for a young child to understand... but the message isn't childish.
Will this work for an older child or teen?
Yes. This is actually one of the questions I hear most often.
Although Find Your Happy is illustrated like a children's book, the ideas inside aren't limited to little kids. Older children and teens tend to see layers younger readers don't yet recognize—particularly around how our thoughts affect our experiences, what we can and cannot control, and the role we have in creating our own happiness.
The meaning changes as they grow, which is one reason families often return to these books at different ages.
Is this book only for children experiencing trauma or divorce?
Not at all. Find Your Happy was created to teach emotional life skills that can benefit every child.
It can be especially meaningful for children navigating anxiety, family changes, divorce, difficult relationships, low confidence, or other challenging circumstances—but a child doesn't have to be struggling to benefit from it.
Understanding emotions, developing resilience, building self-worth, and learning what we can control are skills every child deserves.
Is the book gender-neutral?
Yes. The lessons in Find Your Happy are intentionally universal and aren't based on a particular family structure, gender, or situation.
The book doesn't identify or blame a "bad" parent or tell children how they should feel about anyone in their lives. Instead, it keeps the focus where it belongs: helping the child understand themselves, their feelings, their choices, and the strength they already have within them.
Can I read this with my child?
Absolutely—and I encourage it.
Younger children can enjoy Find Your Happy simply as a beautifully illustrated rhyming story, but reading it together also creates natural opportunities for deeper conversations.
You can pause and ask things like, "Have you ever felt this way?", "What helps you when you feel like this?", or "What do you think you can control in that situation?"
For older children, sometimes simply leaving the book somewhere they can pick it up privately works beautifully, too.
What size and format is the book?
Find Your Happy is a 28-page premium hardcover children's book, created to be durable enough to read, revisit, and keep as children grow.
It's designed to feel like a special book worth keeping on the shelf—not a disposable workbook or pamphlet.
How quickly will my order ship?
Orders generally ship within 2–3 business days when the book is in stock.
Once your order ships, you'll receive tracking information so you can follow it on its way to you.
Can this book be used by therapists, teachers, counselors, or other professionals?
Yes. Find Your Happy can be a wonderful conversation starter for therapists, counselors, teachers, social workers, and other professionals working with children.
The story introduces big ideas in approachable language without diagnosing a child or telling them what they should think or feel. That leaves room for the trusted adult to use the story as a starting point for conversations about emotions, choices, resilience, self-worth, and what is—and isn't—within the child's control.
