Help Them Hear Their Own Voice Through It.
Be kind.
Work hard.
Tell the truth.
Make good choices.
Believe in yourself.
But adolescence brings something different.
Friends have opinions. Social media has opinions. Coaches, teachers, parents and other adults have opinions.
They're watching other people's lives and wondering how their own measures up.
They're beginning to make choices that actually shape their future.
And underneath all of it, they're trying to answer some enormous questions:
Who am I?
Do I matter?
What am I capable of?
What kind of person do I want to become?
These two books were created for those questions.
Not to give teens another lecture.
To give them something worth thinking about.
Two Books. Two Powerful Messages.
One Foundation for What Comes Next.
IF NOT YOU, THEN WHO?
First, Believe You Matter.
It's easy for a teenager to look at the world and think:
What difference could I possibly make?
If Not You, Then Who? is a small, pocket-sized reminder that their presence matters, their choices matter and they are never too small or too young to make a difference.
Through inspirational words and photography, it encourages teens to recognize their own worth and understand that meaningful change rarely begins with someone extraordinary.
It begins with someone willing to take the first step.
THE WORK
Then, Discover What You're Capable Of.
We want to give our kids every advantage we can.
But some of the most important things they'll need as adults can't be handed to them.
Confidence.
Capability.
Self-trust.
Resilience.
Independence.
Those are built through experience.
Through trying. Failing. Learning. Getting back up. Doing something difficult and realizing:
“I did that.”
The Work helps teens understand the difference between simply receiving something and becoming capable of creating something for themselves.
Because the greatest thing they earn from doing the work isn't always the result.
It's who they become while doing it.

"Trish's books hit different. They make teens think... and then ask questions. They open conversations where I don't have to pull teeth to keep it going."

"So simple, yet so powerful, just like all of Trish's books. Great for any teen, but a MUST HAVE for teens dealing with a narcissist parent."
~ Lisa K.
And They Aren't Another Lecture From Mom or Dad.
Teenagers receive advice all day long.
That's not what these books were designed to add.
Both are intentionally short, visually engaging and written to plant ideas rather than prescribe answers.
They create space for teens to think about things like:
Who do I want to be?
What do I value?
What am I capable of doing for myself?
What does independence actually mean?
What kind of life do I want?
What difference could I make?
Instead of telling them exactly what to think, these books encourage them to begin developing something far more important:
Their own internal voice.
a note from the author
I Wrote These For My Son
He was struggling with parental alienation. There were so many things I wanted him to understand.
Things I knew I couldn't simply tell him.
I wanted him to know the danger of taking gifts when there were strings attached.
Especially when doing so made him feel bad about himself.
Every time we do something difficult for ourselves, we gain something no one can give us—and no one can take away.
We learn that we can trust ourselves.
That's what I want for him.
That's why I wrote these books.

Frequently Asked Questions - FAQ
What books are included?
The bundle includes The Work and If Not You, Then Who?
What ages are these books for?
The bundle is best suited for approximately ages 12+, including teenagers and young adults. If Not You, Then Who? is positioned for ages 13+, while The Work can resonate beginning around age 12 depending on the reader.
Are these books only for teens dealing with narcissistic abuse?
No. The messages are intentionally universal. Self-worth, resilience, independence, purpose, confidence and self-trust are valuable for any teen. They can be especially meaningful for young people navigating difficult or high-conflict family dynamics.
Do the books talk about narcissistic parents?
They do not need to label or diagnose a parent in order to help a teen. The focus stays where it belongs: on the young person, their internal skills, their choices and their growing ability to trust themselves.
Is The Work just about telling teenagers to work harder?
No. The deeper message is about what happens inside a person when they learn they are capable of doing difficult things for themselves. Work is the vehicle; capability, confidence, resilience and self-trust are the larger lessons.
Does The Work teach teens not to accept gifts or help?
No. Receiving help isn't inherently unhealthy. The book explores the value of also developing the ability to work toward things independently... especially when gifts or assistance may come with pressure, guilt or expectations.
Would these work for a teen who doesn't like reading?
That's one of the reasons they're intentionally short. They're designed to deliver meaningful ideas without feeling like a traditional self-help book or a large reading commitment.
Would this make a good graduation gift?
Yes. The combination of “you matter” and “you are capable” makes the pair especially meaningful for graduation, birthdays, leaving for college, starting a first job or other transitions into greater independence.
